Jail/Prison Outreach

Liz Hipple is the founder and pastor of Vineyard’s jail and prison ministry. Our mission is to serve the women inmates of Ozaukee County Jail and other facilities through forming relationships, sharing God’s Word, and helping them to grow in a life-transforming relationship with Jesus. Upon their release, we seek to maintain these relationships and support the women’s successful transition into the community.

As a part of the Ozaukee County Jail Chaplaincy program, women volunteers facilitate Bible study each Saturday morning, and upon request will visit women inmates for one-on-one visits during the week.  As women transition from Ozaukee County Jail to state facilities after sentencing, our volunteers also visit them one-on-one upon request.

Upon release, the women are encouraged to get involved in local church Bible studies, and programs for recovery, parenting, counseling and personal growth as available in the community.  Donations such as Bibles, books and clothing are also made available to the women. We are hoping and praying to be able to establish a transitional housing facility in Ozaukee County, to further support the transition from inmate life back into their community.

This is a rewarding ministry that impacts not only the lives of incarcerated women and the many challenges they face, but also the lives of their children and families.
